To join the Entomological Society of Victoria you need to:
• Create an Entomological Society of Victoria account through our website.
• Purchase a membership through our online store.
How long is my membership for?
You membership is for a period of 12 months from the date you make payment.
Why do I need an account to purchase a membership?
An account is required because the Entomological Society of Victoria uses it to automate the membership renewal process. The membership that you purchase is a subscription that is associated with your account, and it will automatically renew 12 months after the purchase date and every 12 months after that. The information that you store within your account, such as your payment information (card details), is used as part of the membership renewal process.
Does an account get generated automatically when I purchase a membership?
No. You need to create an account first.
More than one member of my household wants to become a member of the Entomological Society of Victoria. Do they all need their own account?
Yes. Each member must have their own account and each member must purchase their own membership.
When I purchase a membership, do I have to have an auto renewal? Can I opt out?
No. The auto renewal feature is required to process the automatic renewal of your membership subscription. Without it your membership will lapse.
What payment options are available to pay for my membership?
The only payment options are by credit card / debit card.
I don't want the Entomological Society of Victoria to store my card details when paying for a membership? Is this possible?
No. Your card details are required to process the automatic renewal of your membership subscription.
How do I renew my membership?
Membership renewals are automatic and will occur every 12 months from the day that you purchase your membership.
Will I get a reminder when my membership renewal is due?
Yes. You will get an email notification 15 days before your membership is renewed. When the renewal occurs you will get an email notification advising that this has occurred, after the membership payment has been debited from your account.
How can I see when my membership renewal will take place?
You can do this by logging on to your account and accessing the "Subscriptions" section. This will show you the date that the next renewal will take place.
The card I used to pay for my membership is expired / lost / stolen. What do I need to do?
You will need to logon to your account and update the payment details on your membership subscription. Please contact our secretary on secretary@entsocvic.org.au if you need help on how to do this. If you don't update your payment details then when we try and renew your membership the payment will fail and you will receive an email notifying you if this.
How do I cancel my membership?
You can easily cancel your membership at any time by logging onto your account and canceling the auto renewal of our membership subscription. Your membership however will still be valid until the next renewal date + 2 months. Please contact our secretary on secretary@entsocvic.org.au if you would like to cancel your subscription.
When I become a member, I don’t want to get a printed copy of the Victorian Entomologist? is this possible?
Yes. Purchase a Digital membership and we will send you the Victorian Entomologist via email as a PDF.
